Three fifty-pounders, a fifty-six-inch kudu

Three separate bulls at three separate pans, all fifty-pound class. Young warthogs and kudu cows. In the afternoon a fifty-six-inch kudu bull appears at two hundred meters — and vanishes the moment the cruiser stops.

Three separate bulls at three separate pans. All fifty-pound class. Young warthogs. Kudu cows. No big old-bull spoor — the country had gone quiet after yesterday’s noise.

In the afternoon a fifty-six-inch kudu bull two hundred meters off the road. He was gone the moment the cruiser stopped. We had our look, and no chance of a shot.
