15 A rest day

No one at their best. A morning off for everyone to find their legs again. A late-afternoon drive near camp — cows close to the road, a fifty-five-pound bull with long tusks almost underfoot. A quiet day by choice.
A rest morning for everyone. The legs had not recovered from yesterday. No one pretended.
A short drive around camp in late afternoon. Two elephant cows close to the road. On the way home a fifty-five-pound bull with long tusks, unbothered, right at the road shoulder.
